What is Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed to improve breast tissue and shape. This surgical procedure aims to increase breast size, correct breast shape, or balance breast asymmetries in harmony with your body contours, using either silicone breast implants or your own fat tissue. While breast augmentation surgery is usually chosen for aesthetic purposes, it can also be performed for medical reasons such as breast reconstruction or correction of congenital breast anomalies.
How is Breast Augmentation Performed?
This surgery is performed through a few centimeter incision made in your inframammary fold or armpit, with silicone implant and size planning done considering each patient's body proportions. In some patients, in addition to silicone implants, the patient's own fat tissue is also injected to provide better aesthetic lines.
In suitable patients, breast augmentation can be performed using only the patient's fat tissue. Approximately 60% of the fat tissue used in this method becomes permanent. In this nearly scarless method, performing a second session of fat injection for some patients can improve results further.
Implant Selection: Breast augmentation typically involves adding silicone or saline-filled implants. The size, shape, and type of implant are determined after comprehensive consultations with the patient.
Incision Site: When deciding where to place implants, areas such as under the breast, inframammary fold, or around the nipple are usually preferred. These incision sites are planned to leave minimal scarring.
Implant Placement:Implants can be placed under the breast tissue, under the muscle, or within the muscle. This is determined based on patient preferences, anatomical features, and doctor recommendations.
Aesthetic and Natural Results: Breast augmentation surgery is carefully planned to achieve a natural and aesthetic appearance. Breast size is determined to be compatible with body type.
Personalized Approach: Each patient's body structure and expectations are different. Therefore, we adopt a personalized approach in our breast augmentation procedures. After detailed consultations with the patient, a special treatment plan is created according to the patient's wishes and expectations.
After breast augmentation, patients can usually return to normal daily activities within a few days, but the complete healing process may take several weeks.
